Last year, viewers around the world were shown new, exciting corners of the Ultraman universe with Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy, the internationally acclaimed miniseries that reintroduced audiences to fan-favorite characters like Ultraman Ribut, as well as brand-new threats, like the mysterious Absolute Tartarus. The Absolute Conspiracy may have ended, but the story continues in the Galaxy Rescue Force Voice Drama.
Reuniting the voice actors from The Absolute Conspiracy, and running between 4 to 6 minutes per episode, Galaxy Rescue Force uses animated still photos and clever optical effects to convey a kind of visual audio drama that can sometimes be whimsical, but always adds to the canon of the series. Fans once again check in with Ultraman Ribut, as well as his partner and childhood friend, Sora, as they settle into their new roles as part of the Galaxy Rescue Force, the universal group composed of heroes from across the stars.
Though Ribut and Sora are exemplary fighters, they have a lot to learn in such a melting pot of heroes and warriors from disparate parts of the cosmos, as shown in Episode 1, “Initiation,” where the two meet the first of their new allies, the Legendary Holy Beast, Gukulushisa. Though the duo’s intentions are good, a few unlucky misunderstandings lead to laughs!
The Galaxy Rescue Force Voice Drama premieres every week, alongside Catch-up episodes of Ultraman Trigger, on the Ultraman Office YouTube channel.
