This year Ultraman Day, the anniversary of the first appearance of Ultraman on television in Japan, is Monday, July 10, and the TokuSHOUTsu channel is celebrating in way that is truly worthy of the Giant of Light.
In addition to several blocks of some of the greatest episodes of the Ultraman franchise throughout the day, TokuSHOUTsu will be streaming the Ultraman Day Special: Battle Chronicle that evening at 4pm Pacific time / 7pm Eastern time. The special will be hosted by the inimitable and hilarious Mike Dent (@Mach_Dent on Twitter) and will feature extremely rare clips from some of the original Ultraman Connection live events!
These are action-packed and effects-filled live performances that were made specifically as virtual events for the original membership of Ultraman Connection. These shows were done with the blessing and production savvy of Tsuburaya Productions. For many, this was the first chance they got to see their favorite Ultra Heroes and Kaiju in such a unique venue.
But the Ultraman Day Special: Battle Chronicle is only the climax of TokuSHOUTsu’s Ultraman Day Ultrathon 2023. Here is the entire lineup:
