Ultraman Connection, Tsuburaya Productions, The Licensing Group, and Iceberg Theory have announced that Ultraman Blazar is going to be making appearances live at Fan Expo Canada, August 24 – 27 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
Ultraman Connection, the official international fan hub for the celebrated Ultraman franchise, will be presenting a pair of panels designed to help introduce fans new and old to the latest Ultraman Series entry, Ultraman Blazar.
Join Ultraman Connection’s editor-in-chief, EJ Couloucoundis, and special guests from the simuldub (English-language dubbing) of the show. Watch episodes of the new simuldub with the people who create it and learn secrets about the production and what’s coming next — with an Ultraman contest and licensed merch giveaway as added bonuses.
The Ultraman Blazar panels will be held at 1PM on Friday, August 25th, and Saturday, August 26th, and attendance is free with your Fan Expo ticket. Attendance is limited, however, so make sure to get there early! Details on guests and episodes will be shared in the coming week, so make sure that you stay close to Ultraman Connection.
Perhaps most exciting of all is our final guest — Ultraman Blazar himself! Coming directly from Japan, Blazar will be appearing live in North America for the first time! This will be a rare chance to meet this mysterious new giant! Photo opportunities with the wild and aloof Ultraman Blazar will be held at the Bandai booth and those of other Ultraman licensees. Details to come!
The first episode of Tsuburaya Productions latest series Ultraman Blazar boasted striking special effects a more sophisticated action-oriented story, and exceptional original Kaiju (giant monsters) designs. Blazar, with his strange markings, feral yowls, and catlike stance, has quickly become a fan favorite hero with many speculating over his origins. The Ultraman Blazar first episode, which premiered on the Ultraman Official YouTube channel in July, has broken records with over 7.4 million views.
Fan Expo Canada is one of the biggest fan conventions in North America. Boasting over 135,000 attendees every year. Fortunately, celebrity guests are still able to appear at Fan Expo during the SAG-AFTRA strike. Autographs, Photo Ops, and Panels will still be happening and are allowed, they are careful to point out.
With titans in the space of TV, movies, video games, and more at Fan Expo Canada, it’s hard to imagine how such an event could get any bigger.
Luckily, we know a Giant of Light that can help do just that.
